It’s a beautiful zen garden! You need reservation. They have limited hours. If you get there late, the gates are closed.
We were visiting LA for one day. They let us in. We did not visit inside the temples.
They have group meditation if one is interested.

One of my favorite places to visit. Been coming here for years. It’s such a peaceful place that centers you and is a great place to come relax and meditate. The lake is great, the walk around it is wonderful and the whole vibe is serene. You need to make a reservation before you come so make sure you do that a day or two in advance.

From coastline nature-vibe to Fine dinings.
Los Angeles has the luxury of Rodeo and the tranquility of coastal nature. It has the bustle of downtown and Hollywood, and the harmony of Malibu and Palisades. This melting pot is a mixture of various races, cultures, and extreme collisions. It is colorful and beautiful.

This place, I was hesitating to come because it is a little far away from me. But, this is one of the best places I had been in the world.

Tranquility does heal! The harmony that is beyond the human world has magically healing power. The light reflects those naughty sparkling on the river while the ducks are just sliding on its surface, I was so moved that I was watching all this happened in my eyes. The leaves of bamboo swings in the wind at the same time, I can hear not far away the springs making beautiful sound.

And The ripples on the lake were as dazzling as jewels under the sunlight. Just as I was intoxicated by this, two ducks paddled across the lake. They seemed like creatures from another world. They were so innocent and cute.

I had a fxxking great afternoon dating with myself here! One of my best days. Wow. A great great place. Entrance fee is free too.

I visit the Lakeshrine whenever I’m in LA to pay respects to the great teacher, Paramahansa Yogananda and the lineage of gurus who came before him. The Shrine is a beautiful and serene place where one can spend a good hour or two in quiet and peace. There are two gift shops on the property as well which are worth visiting.

Beautiful and peaceful place to visit. It is free to visit, you just need to make a reservation ahead of time. It honors many walks of faith, with plaques and iconography for them. The lake is full of HUGE koi, turtles, ducks, and swans (Please don’t feed them). There are also many beautiful trees and flowers.
There are many beautiful benches to sit, meditate, and enjoy the views. It also feels very cleansing to the soul to be there. You can meditate in the houseboat. The area around the ashes of Gandhi is especially powerful. It can be almost overwhelming (in a good way). To me, it feels like God’s presence. If you have any spiritual sensitively, I highly recommend coming here!
There are bathrooms on site, a small gift shop with items from India, and a small museum about the history of the shrine and fellowship. Area is small; you could walk around the lake in probably 15 minutes easily, but I would encourage folks to stop, sit, and soak it all in. Looking forward to our next visit

Beautiful meditation and photography spots, reservations are required and made through Eventbrite, entrance is either at 11AM or 1PM, parking is available on the premises at no additional charge. The atmosphere in this place makes you feel like you’re in a temple, it’s so quiet you can hear the water running and the swans quacking, and since it’s a meditation garden, you will run into multiple people meditating, so not exactly a kid-friendly spot despite being open to all ages. This place is gorgeous, you’ll walk through an enchanting path that loops around a placid lake replete with coy fish, turtles, swans, and ducks enclosed by nature. The loop has several benches, bays by the lake, and semi-private spots to sit down and meditate in, as well as a small gift shop with a wishing well. If you just wanna walk around and take some pictures, the whole loop shouldn’t take you more than 30-45 minutes, and though you’re allowed to stay there longer, they do suggest your reservation lasts for 2hrs. I would recommend doing this walk before doing a hike at the Malibu Creek State Park for a full day program.

PS: IF YOU’RE PLANNING ON COMING TO THIS PLACE TO CATCH UP WITH A FRIEND, please DON’T - drive up a little more and sit on the Malibu Pier, people are meditating here. If you’re coming with children, BE MINDFUL OF YOUR VOLUME, people are meditating here. As pretty as this place is, this is a MEDITATION garden, not a café.
