I started coming here in 2016 and felt like I’d discovered a hidden gem. Soon after I started teacher a beginners class. The caliber of teachers is unparalleled in their sincerity in practicing the healing art of meditation, truly embodying the Way. I have never found a more kind and welcoming Sangha. I am grateful and honored to practice with them and teach at LBM. I hope to see you there soon.

I love Long Beach Meditation! I started my meditation journey here. Through the years and even after relocating to the Midwest, I keep coming back. Franz made such a safe place to start exploring meditation--a space I am welcomed to bring my full self. In the toughest of times, I've come here with questions, shared or not, I was always come away with answers and new perspectives.

Joining over zoom is convenient and just as powerful as in person!

I started mindfulness meditation at Long Beach Meditation back in 2019, before the pandemic sent us all into isolation of varying degrees. I'm so glad that I'd met many members of the community (called a Sangha) before the lockdown, because I was able to continue attending the Monday night sits, as well as the Sunday dharma talks, on Zoom. Based on the friendships I'd started to form in person, I participated in the first Long Beach Meditation book club on Zoom, and I'm now one of the facilitators!
The teachers all have different backgrounds in different Buddhist traditions, and that variety has been so helpful in navigating daily life. I am not a religious person any more, and I appreciate the non-judgmental approach of "You might try this," instead of saying I must do something to achieve a "higher level." The teachers' warmth and wisdom create a bubble of peace, whether I log onto a Zoom meeting or go to Long Beach to sit in person. Mindfulness continues to help me in my daily life.

What a welcoming atmosphere for me as a beginner/growing meditator! I attend the Monday meditations with Franz and get so much out of his laid back/personable vibe but also his tender approach towards meeting our own experience. This is the sort of place where you can enter really at any experience level and meet something vibrant and useful that’s loaded with depth underscoring it. Would love to take part in more of their offerings. I zoom from out of town and try to come in person when possible. Even over zoom I feel Franz and the team make us part of the room.

Pre-pandemic, was introduced to Long Beach Meditation by a friend and joined the in person Sunday sit. When everything shut down, I would join Monday evenings. Was off and on with my practice but in 2022, became more consistent by joining the Wednesday class. Now, I look forward to the Wednesday class and have gotten to know everyone. Long Beach Meditation has helped me in so many ways and I'm so thankful for this organization. Thank you Brad and Travis.
