Freshly baked French bread on premises.
Sandwich was okay/good something different from other sandwiches stores. The bread itself is smaller compared to regular bread size, the fillings meat/ veggies for the sandwiches overall was a bit less on portion.
Packaging/ presentation in the paper box was a nice touch but the sauce in the plastic container and the veggie in the plastic sandwich bag got me turned off. No plastic please.

Be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes during lunch hours because they don't have enough man power to pump out freshly baked bread.

Indoor seating are available if you prefer to eat your sandwich on premises.

A Delightful Lunch Spot with Authentic Flavors!

I had the pleasure of meeting a friend for lunch at Banh Mi Hoa Phat this afternoon, and it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly smiles and a warm atmosphere that immediately made me feel welcome. The space is cozy and intimate, which created the perfect environment for engaging conversations with other customers. It’s clear that this spot fosters a sense of community.

The menu is simple but effective—focusing on what they do best: incredible Vietnamese sandwiches. The bread lives up to the hype, delivering that perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I also tried a green juice, recommended by some of the lovely ladies dinning there when I asked for something healthy to drink. While I can’t remember the exact name, it was refreshing and delicious, with everyone agreeing that “green means good health,” bringing a cheerful laugh around the room.

The gentleman at the register had a delightful attitude and even offered everyone a free glass of iced tea, which was a lovely touch, especially on such a hot day here in Los Angeles. It’s small gestures like this that elevate the experience from just a meal to a memorable visit.

While I would’ve loved to give a full five stars across the board, I must mention that the seating could be improved. The chairs were a bit hard, and the table arrangement felt a little awkward and could have been cleaner. However, this in no way detracted from the amazing flavors, top-notch service, and overall positive vibes of the place.

If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Banh Mi Hoa Phat at 301 N Garfield Ave, Monterey Park, CA 91754 for a satisfying and authentic Vietnamese sandwich experience. The food, the friendly service, and the welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit!

Roasted pork belly banh mi is the best seller here. The bread is crunchy. The pork skin is very crispy. It would be better if they choose low-fat meats. The staff are friendly and can speak English, Cantonese, and Vietnamese. Although the store is pretty small, tables and chairs are very clean and organized.

Probably the best banh mi in LA (OC got their own lol). It’s the bread. Crispy outside, soft inside, the crispy pork & the pate, and the separately bagged pickles. Sooo tasty! & great for take out. They baked their own bread. Expected some wait, order ahead if you have a large order. I had to wait a little bit longer cuz they are baking a new batch of bread! Smelled so good!
It’s not a place for atmospheric dine in experience.

Best banh mi in 626!
I love crispy pork banh mi, the bread is so good! It reminds me of banh mi in Saigon. I used to love My Tho but the bread so hard. It’s busy on the weekend, get here early. Sometimes they sell out at noon.

Been here about 4x now, and will come back for more! Recommend the crispy pork bahn mi - super fresh crispy bread, soft inside, crispy roast pork is the perfect blend of meat/skin/fat, delicious pickled veggies plus a bit of heat, and a special sauce (which is a bit salty so ease up if you don’t like too much salt). Best if eaten immediately, but will be ok for a couple of hours, and it reheats ok the next day. Be prepared to wait 20-30 min (or more) if it’s busy. Phone ahead early as they will not answer phones if it is busy (to be fair to those in person). Bring cash - cards have a fee. We will be back as the crispy pork bahn mi is that good and unique for our area. They have new environmentally friendly cardboard packaging now.

must-try! everything is made in-house: from the ? to the pickled veggies

I came for lunch on a friday afternoon and there was a short wait but i've heard the weekends can be over an hour! packaged nicely in a container fit for the banh mi with a nice cutout to keep the bread crunchy, is a delicious sandwich consisting of crispy pork, pickled veggies, and slathered on mayo for $7.50. on the side is an addicting soy sauce based drizzle for your sandwich! we also tried the meatball which was yummmmbo

I dined in during a hot summers day and the interior was a bit warm, so just a little warning if you run hot! there aren't a ton of seats so you might need to wait for a table to open up but good thing is, it's a quick meal!

parking is free on the streets.

Their bread was super crisp and light!! $7.50 Roasted pork was tasty. The pate and veggies were a great mix! I'm usually a cold cut person but I wasn't a fan of their $6.50 Special Ham. If you pay with credit card, it's a 3.5% fee. The wait wasn't too long. I'm torn by this place as we liked 1 sandwich, and I disliked the special ham banh mi. We'll have to just come back again. It's definitely better than many other places.

You'll have to add veggies and sauce into your banh mi in yourself. Or we're going to remember to ask to add everything into the sandwich next time. Both sandwiches came with these salty sauces. The sauce was too over powering in the cold cut/special ham sandwich. The special ham didn't seem to have pate so it felt a bit plain.

If you're a Banh Mi My Tho fan of the original shop, it's different. The bread is amazing here. But I think banh mi my tho is still my favorite banh mi shop. But hope this place could be our alternative once we figure them out more.

There is indoor seating but no ac?
