I was fortunate enough to have Augusta as my mentor during a two year Mindfulness Mediation Teacher Training Program. In a nutshell, Augusta is an excellent teacher (and person!), and she has been integral in helping me understand the nuances of mindfulness. She has a deep knowledge of the practice and skillfully instructed how to begin incorporating it into my daily life.

Her “Zen with an edge” style of teaching is engaging and inspiring. She is passionate about her work and is always eager to help her students get the most out of their practice, as well as an unquestionable dedication to creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere. Her enthusiasm for the practice is contagious and so important in a field that, to me, can sometimes feel quite monotonous!

Augusta truly embodies what it means to be a teacher. She is patient, kind, knowledgeable, and she takes the time to ensure her students understand and can apply the concepts of mindfulness in everyday life, as well as seated meditation. I am so thankful to have been mentored by Augusta, and she is a true example of what it means to be a teacher.

Augusta Hopkins was my mentor during my two-year "Mindfulness Meditation Teachers Certification Program" from Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center at the University of Berkley, and I am grateful for that.

Augusta is an incredible mentor, offering wisdom and guidance on incorporating mindfulness into everyday life while navigating the challenges of using meditation techniques. From our first one-on-one conversation, I could tell she has a special knack for helping me maintain my composure and concentrate in the face of even the most trying circumstances. I am an entrepreneur, so I naturally want to solve every issue I encounter. However, the most prominent and life-changing lesson Augusta taught me is that sometimes the best course of action is to sit back and let things happen.

Augusta is adept at handling participants from various cultural backgrounds, and during the group mentorship sessions, she turned each challenging conversation into an opportunity for the group to establish and strengthen trust. She is an expert in the practice and does an excellent job of simplifying complex ideas for easy comprehension. She is also incredibly understanding and supportive, offering suggestions and direction along the process.

I will always be grateful to Augusta for being my mentor, and I would strongly recommend her to anyone wishing to learn more about mindfulness meditation.

Augusta is one of the best meditation teachers I’ve ever had. Her style is compassionate, kind, and empathetic.

Augusta has been my mentor over the past 2 years through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. At the beginning of the program, there were many mentors to choose from. What caught my attention in Augusta's bio was that she was ordained by Thich Nhat Hanh and described herself as "Zen with an edge". Throughout the 2 years, her description rang true. Her teachings encourage students to bring their practices into their daily lives in the spirit of Thich Nhat Hanh. And her straight forward style of teaching also allowed and challenged me to grow to my "edge" with her compassionate support. Augusta is authentic and cares deeply about her students. Highly recommended. Augusta is experienced and she also happens to be very cool person. She wants your life to be better as a result of her course and it was easy to tell she truly cares. She taught us many kinds of meditation introducing one at a time. I always looked forward to coming to class and also found myself enjoying meditation in between the days we met. It was enlightening to learn how even 10 minutes of sitting can clear your mind and bring calm. We also learned deep breathing technique to check in and reduce stress which I implement quite often. 😉 Tai Chi and Mindful Eating definitely stood out. It was one of the best gifts I gave myself this year.
