My party had an amazing experience at this location. I was greeted at the door and immediately taken to the table. I immediately noticed how beautiful and clean the restaurant was. The waiter Gio gave great suggestions on drinks and meals. The service manager, Carlos, gave amazing suggestions for food and even gave a history of the restaurant. I ordered the El Patron for my drink, which was amazing. My second drink was the double barrel margarita. Stronger than the first but amazing taste. Let’s get to the food. The Shrimp Brochette was phenomenal. Excellent taste with wonderful flavor. The brisket flautas were amazing also. I love quesadillas and the quesadillas here were phenomenal and super fresh. Everyone at the restaurant was friendly and the service was phenomenal. I am looking forward to coming back here to try more items on the menu.

A good TexMex experience at Mi Cocina. We don’t have many offerings like this north of the border, so it was nice to experience local flavours. My host was exceptional - very attentive and provided good recommendations for a first time visitor. Portions were generous and reasonably priced although I was expecting more seasoning. And yes - everything is bigger in Texas!

The same way that a great crust makes a pizza, so too does ambiance make a restaurant stand out. I've always loved a restaurant with a great patio - Mi Cocina has that in spades. The food has to be great - Mi Cocina, check. But how many restaurants go for the trifecta? A spot where service is so good that you're left talking about that alongside the food you just enjoyed? Check that box and circle it.

My family had the best food, best views, and BEST experience with our server and restaurant management while visiting this weekend.

Let's just call them out: Marisol was attentive, friendly, and made great food recommendations. Our drinks were never empty and sauces were replenished without needing to ask. She was wonderful.

The highlight of our visit was getting to know Carlos, the manager. He checked in throughout our meal, made us laugh, and treated us like royalty. Rarely do you care that a manager comes to touch your table - we found ourselves better that he did and enjoying his witty banter throughout the evening.

Oh yes, the food. It was excellent. Do I need to say much about the tasty seasonings, great (not overly sweet) drinks, and perfect cook on each dish? The feeling that the prices were far too low for the quality delivered? I could, but there are many great restaurants in the heart of Dallas that can boast good food. That said, none have the staff that makes this spot the very best.

The main draw of this place seems to be the location. It's right next to a park, and has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a fast service counter outside. My family chose to eat inside, since it was 100 degrees on the day we visited.

The food itself was somewhat disappointing for the price ($15-$20 entrees). The chips tasted like they were store bought rather than made in-house. The rest of my meal (chicken fajitas with rice) was decent but nothing to write home about. I was hoping the Mexican food in Texas would be at least as good, if not better, than the Mexican food in my hometown. Alas, it fell short. Although it's possible that I just ordered the wrong thing. My mother had the chicken enchiladas and said they were great.

PS: good luck finding parking if you don't want to use their valet. On the plus side, the valet is only $5 if you're dining with them, so probably worth it.

Mi Cocina Dallas: Great Drinks, Prime Location

Mi Cocina in downtown Dallas offers a vibrant atmosphere in a convenient location. Situated right next to a beautiful park, it boasts both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying the Texas sunshine.

While I didn't have the opportunity to try the food on this visit, I can definitely vouch for their drinks! I ordered a strawberry margarita, and it was delicious. The flavor was fresh and balanced, and it hit the spot perfectly.

The location itself is a big plus. Being right downtown and next to a park makes it a great spot for a casual after-work drink or a weekend brunch with a nice view. If the drinks are any indication, I'm sure the food is delicious as well. I'll definitely be back to try their menu next time!

Awesome food, service and atmosphere, first visit, great concept to have a restaurant next to a park, great views, inside atmosphere was very nice also, our server was awesome, helped with menu and gave great service, great enchilada although I prefer softer tortilla, rice and beans were good, best part was the sauces and the salad garnish though, tried my friends vegetable quesadilla and that was very good, flan was the best I ever had, disappointed they didn’t have fried ice cream though, valet service was a nice touch , hope to be back soon, thank you!
