Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere! This was my first visit, and I had the chicken banh mi. The roll was fresh, light, and flaky, while the chicken and vegetables were both fresh and flavorful. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. My cup was religiously refilled with fresh ice water after almost every sip. I already can’t wait to return and explore the rest of the menu. You won’t be disappointed.

Been dying to try Bun & Mi since it opened in the neighborhood and I finally had my chance as I was working from home and craving a pork belly banh mi. Pickup was so easy and the counter you can sit at if you’re eating is small but so cute.

Now onto the banh mi. My banh mi was huge and packed with goodness. The pork had great flavor and the bread was perfectly crunchy on the outside but soft and soaked up all the juices on the inside. One critique I have is that I wish there was more cilantro and that the ingredients were more evenly dispersed in the sandwich (one half was mostly pickled carrots and pork) but still so good and would order again.

Can’t wait to try the spring rolls and pho next time! Love having a Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood since it’s my go to comfort food 🙂

Their standout Banh Mi impresses with a crispy baguette, accompanied by a tantalizing array of toppings - from tangy pickled carrots and daikon to creamy house-made mayo, vibrant cilantro, and spicy jalapeños for that extra kick. Protein choices include chicken, shrimp, shaken beef, or braised pork, but the vegetarian version, featuring tofu and mushrooms, is equally exceptional. Alternatively, these fillings can be enjoyed in a rice, noodle or salad bowl.

Be sure not to overlook their pho as well as the blueberry lemonade with chia seeds, a refreshing and healthful beverage choice.

Freshness is a priority here, with the chef-owner consistently ensuring each dish meets their high standards, right from the bar/kitchen to your table.

Amazing superb customer service! I would actually hope so for this space having limited seating.

Note: if you feel like trying more than one main dish split it (ex:pho) and you’ll have a solid amount of food, they are not stingy about their splits

Banh mi was delish and packed high! They get their bun from a bakery in Los Angeles.

Spicy garlic tofu bites were good. Their homemade chili oil was good too!

Pho was solid just wish they had a different type of noodle and didn’t cut it up so much when splitting. The noodles were so short and they were hard to grab with the chopstick

Excellent place.
Vietnamese food made with love. Gluten-free noodles ? were excellent, not to mention the exceptional sauce.

The customer service is hard to find so attentive.

Best kept secret on Montana Ave! Alvin / owner makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door and remembers repeat clients by name. His wife Pam, makes magic in the kitchen and nails the dishes every time. The pork belly is so tender and all the dishes I've tried tried are packed with flavor. There is something on the menu for everyone and I've personally witnessed how much joy kids get from eating at Bun & Mi. I look forward to my visits each time and check their IG for specials like beef noodle soup or curry

I am always looking for new places to try and found Bun & Mi. What a great addition to the Santa Monica area. The pork belly banh Mi is delicious. I’ll definitely be back for lunch. I would also recommend the blueberry lemonade. Very friendly staff.
